The Earth Has a Heartbeat
The Earth has the equivalent of a heartbeat, which is a measurable frequency called the Schumann Resonances. The Schumann Resonances are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low-frequency portion of the Earth’s electromagnetic field between approximately 60 miles above the surface of the earth to the ionosphere — the edge of space, about 600 miles up. (NASA)
“Some of the waves…create a repeating atmospheric heartbeat known as the Schumann Resonances.” —NASA
This dynamic region of the Schumann Resonances grows and shrinks based on solar conditions and lightning (Dispenza). However, the base frequency of 7.83 Hz has been unchanged since it was first measured by physicist Winfried Schumann who predicted it mathematically in 1952. (Read his published theory here.)
It’s this “celestial power station”. You can liken these waves to radiofrequency waves that make listening to radio stations possible. When we listen to FM radio these waves are from 88 Hz to 108 Hz. They have never changed; they have always been constant. Just like these radio frequencies, the Schumann Frequencies have also been constant at 7.83 Hz.
“Earth’s electromagnetic field has been protecting all living things with this natural frequency pulsation of 7.83 Hz. This rhythmic pattern lies within the human brainwave range and thus, scientists have speculated that this aspect of the Earth’s electromagnetic field may act as a kind of global mind, with the capacity to organize and influence human consciousness.”—Dr. Joe Dispenza, New York Times bestselling author, neuroscience researcher, and international lecturer. Dispenza’s bestselling books include Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One (2012) and You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter (2014).
A growing group of scientists in consciousness studies, including Dr. Joe Dispenza, theorize the mind as an energy-like field surrounding and separate from the body. Scientists speculate that a feedback loop exists between all humans and the earth’s electromagnetic field—a.k.a. the Schumann Resonances.
Everything is connected. The greatest minds in history have agreed.

Ancient Indian Rishis Belief in Divine Frequencies
The ancient Indian rishis referred to the divine frequencies as ‘Aum’ (aka Om or Ohm mantra), the incarnation of pure sound. Aum was first mentioned in the Upanishads, the mystical texts associated with Vedanta, a school of Hindu philosophy, circa 800 BCE. (An Introduction to Hinduism by Gavin Flood
“Whether by coincidence or not, the frequency of 7.83 Hz also happens to be a very powerful frequency used with brainwave entrainment as it’s associated with low levels of alpha and the upper range of theta brain wave states.”— Dr. Joe Dispenza
“Every second, a multitude of pulses travel around the world in this unique, resonant chamber between Earth and the ionosphere, sending colluding signals to all microorganisms. These signals couple us to the Earth’s magnetic field. Named after their discoverer, these Schumann Resonances drive the harmonizing pulse for life in our world.” — Eric W Thompson, founder of Subtle Energy Sciences
The Schumann Resonances and Brainwaves
The main Schumann Resonance hovers around 7.83 hz., which puts your brainwaves in between Theta and Alpha. The higher the Schumann Frequency the higher your brainwaves will be because they entrain them. When the Schumann Frequency spikes, your brain can go into high beta, also known as your monkey mind. High beta is the signature brain wave of people experiencing anxiety, frustration, and stress. These brain waves correspond with different states of mind. See the chart below.
How Your Health is Affected by The Schumann Resonances
When we are out of sync with Earth’s Frequency 7.83 Hz, we begin to exhibit signs of discomfort that can range from anxiety, insomnia, illness, and a suppressed immune system. Conversely, we have discovered that when humans are in sync with the standard 7.83 Schumann Frequency, there is a widely held belief from the scientific and medical community that suggests that it positively influences:
- Neural and cognitive functioning
- Physical, emotional and mental health
- Healthy DNA formation
- Psychic phenomena
- Meditation, hypnotizability, suggestibility
- A healthy sense of being grounded and centered
- A healthy form of protection against harmful electromagnetic fields (EMFs)
- An enhanced state of creativity, cognition, and learning
- Improved ability to handle stress
- Cerebral blood flow
- Human growth hormone (HGH) levels

It is possible that these signals act like a natural tuning fork, not just for the biological oscillators (circadian clock) of the brain, but for all processes of life.
The Schumann Resonance Field Effects Generator Experiment
Max Planck Institute professor Rutger Wever conducted an experiment in which generating the 7.83 Schumann Resonance was found to improve health in individuals living in an underground bunker. Between 1964 and 1989, this bunker was used to conduct 418 studies in 447 human volunteers. These volunteers spent four weeks separated from the Earth’s natural resonance or pulse, which caused emotional distress and migraine headaches. When the Schumann Resonance of 7.83 Hz was reintroduced in the bunker they immediately recovered.
Schumann Resonance Creates DNA for Life
A major tenet in biological sciences is that life can only exist where life existed before. Cell theory states that living organisms are made up of cells, that they are the basic structural organizational unit of all organisms, and that all cells come from pre-existing cells.
However, Nobel Prize-winning virologist Luc Montaigner discovered that the 7.83 Hz Schumann Resonance was literally responsible for creating life. Employing the Schumann Resonance, Montaigner’s experiment, in 2011, proved that new DNA teleported from one container of water to another nearby container. Life was created where no life had existed. The Schumann Resonance at 7.83 Hz was present, but when removed the experiment failed.

Astronauts Prove Earth Resonance is Essential
NASA realized early on that the physical condition of Astronauts deteriorated severely while in space — away from the Schumann Resonances. The problem was solved by introducing the “Schumann Simulator” into all space shuttles, a magnetic pulse generator mimicking Earth’s ideal frequency of 7.83 Hz. This demonstrates the simple fact that we cannot be healthy if disconnected from the natural frequency of the earth.
Earth’s Frequency Matches the Frequency of the Human Brain
While reading the results of Professor Schumann’s published theory on the Earth resonances in 1952, Physician Anker Mueller was struck by the uncanny similarity between the earth’s background electromagnetic frequency and the frequency of alpha waves in EEG of the human brain when it is in harmony (in alpha). Read his published work here.
In 1979, Herbert König who became Schumann’s and Muller’s successor at Munich University discovered and demonstrated a clear link between the 7.83 Schumann Resonance and brain rhythms. He compared human EEG recordings with natural electromagnetic fields of the environment and found that the main frequency produced by Schumann oscillations is extremely close to the frequency of alpha wavelengths.
“As human beings we have extraordinary potential we have hardly begun to study, much less understand. Creative gifts, intuitions and talents that are unpredictable or emergent may become stabilized in generations to come. Hopefully, we can learn to understand both our emergence from an essentially electromagnetic environment and facilitate our potential for healing, growth and non-local communication.” —Lewis B. Dramatic Spikes in the Intensity of Schumann Resonances
As mentioned previously, the main Schumann Resonance hovers around 7.83 Hz since its discovery in 1952. However, the upper harmonics and amplitudes of the Schumann Resonances have recently been increasing wildly. They were hovering around 33 and then spiked to a high of 158hz. (Michael Persinger, Behavioral Neuroscience Lab, Sudbury University, Ontario)

This spike of 158hz occurred on the 6th of December 2019 (6.12.2019 on graph) about the time COVID 19 (Coronavirus) was first breaking out.

The first spike is represented by the white area on May 24th (24.05.2020). causing a heightened state of anxiety. The above Schumann Resonance chart marks the approximate time of the protests against racism and police brutality. May 26th is when the violence started.
What is Causing the Spikes in the Schumann Resonances?
Scientists have theorized that human consciousness can impact the Schumann Resonances, especially during times of high anxiety, emotion, and tension. It is theorized that the Schumann Resonances can also impact how people feel, raising anxiety when the resonances spike. Some speculate it may be caused by the increase in electromagnetic radiation from recent technology such as cell phones and WiFi. Another theory is that we may be currently elevating into a higher state of consciousness, pushing us into high gamma frequencies.
In 2014, the Schumann Resonances started spiking in the range of 14-16Hz on certain days. Then the spike was around 21-30 Hz. This is when cases of tinnitus (ringing in the ear) started spiking.
In addition, cases of Alzheimers spiked around 2014. See chart below.
Scientific analysis shows that our brain waves will entrain to these frequencies. So essentially, the Earth is shifting higher, and drawing our minds along with it. Source: Subtle Energy Sciences
The brain does not operate in just one single frequency; the full spectrum of brainwave frequencies are always running, all the time. The dominant frequency determines our mental state – and entrainment shifts our mental state by boosting one frequency to be higher than the others.
Life on Earth is calibrated to the frequency of the planet. Everything from our state of consciousness to our brain waves and biorhythms is directly correlated to the Earth’s natural frequencies. The Schumann Resonances are a reflection of human consciousness.
In addition to the highly charged political, social, economic, and personal problems of our current time, many people have also been feeling like time is speeding up. This might explain the intense disturbance most of us are feeling during this historic time of chaos. Could the drastic rise in frequency have something to do with this?
On January 31, 2017, for the first time in recorded history, the Schumann Resonances reached frequencies of over 36 Hz. It was considered an anomaly when in 2014 this frequency rose from its usual 7.83 Hz to somewhere in the 15-25 Hz levels—so a jump from 7.83 Hz to over 36 Hz is a big deal. That’s more than a five-fold increase in resonant frequency levels. And then it spiked to a high of 158hz on 19th of December 2019.
What does this mean? According to neuroscience, frequency recordings of 36+ Hz in the human brain are more associated with a stressed nervous system than a relaxed and healthy one. (Dispenza)
The New Earth
What this means for us is that since 2014, we are all being exposed to and required to calibrate to the accelerated planetary frequencies if we want to evolve with the new Earth. Scientists tell us that not only is the frequency of Earth accelerating, but changes are also in process in the sun and entire solar system.
If the earth’s electromagnetic field is rising, then shouldn’t that allow our brain to receive greater frequencies that are even higher than the high beta brain waves? Remember, as mentioned above, high beta, is also known as your monkey mind. High beta is the signature brain wave of people experiencing anxiety, frustration, and stress. People whose brain waves usually hover in beta may be more negatively impacted by these higher Schumann resonances, pushing them into high beta.
Those that have trained their mind to hover more in the gamma, through meditation, might conceivably be able to harness the power of these higher frequencies. Could these higher Schumann Frequency be pushing some people to transition their normal state of beta into high gamma waves? It’s rare to achieve extremely high gamma waves. These brain waves are considered the brain’s highest frequency of functioning. Gamma waves are related to very high levels of intellectual function, creativity, peak states, and a feeling of “being in the zone”.
Gamma brainwaves are usually weak in normal people. Conversely, mostly Tibetan Buddhists, martial art masters, and highly elevated mystics, can vibrate at this frequency. Could these higher Schumann frequencies be the frequency of the awakened state?
When Buddhist monks were asked to meditate on the subject of compassion, large bursts of gamma waves were found in their brains (Davidson & Lutz, 2008). The flares of gamma waves measured in the brains of these monks were the highest ever recorded. The monks reported entering into a state of bliss.
Our focus at BeAwake.com is the science of spirituality; however, we feel a need to address the spiritual nature of this topic and try to make sense of what is happening now.
The direction of planetary evolution correlates closely to the higher energy frequency of love. Right now is when the long-standing wisdom to choose love over fear is the key to our evolution. It is a wake-up call for us to upgrade our consciousness and take a quantum evolutionary leap forward with the planet.
Right now Earth is progressing faster in its frequency upgrade than we are. So the time is now to intentionally bring our personal and collective human vibration to the higher frequency of love. Science has already demonstrated that the energy of love upgrades our biochemistry and our well-being on all levels. The shift we could experience by upping our frequency could activate more parts of our brains, additional aspects of our DNA, and likely new strands of DNA. This shift will open up the potential to advance perceptual abilities, new ways to relate, to heal, to perceive, and to communicate with all life.
We are in the midst of an unprecedented shift in the human condition—a global renaissance that affects every aspect of our cultural lives, self‐understanding and experience. This evolutionary transformation, when seen through the lens of science, reveals that it has been emerging since 2014 on a global scale.
Humanity can finally move as a collective consciousness awakening from a state of surviving to a state of thriving.
